CEME (Contemporary Encounters by Meitar Ensemble) Festival and Master Course, is a unique platform for the promotion of contemporary music, established with the aim of engaging young musicians with the latest developments in the field of New Music.

For the CEME 2024 edition, the festival is honored to host two internationally acclaimed composers - Carola Bauckholt and Brigitta Muntendorf. Meitar Ensemble’s chief conductor Pierre-André Valade (France) will perform in the festival alongside soloist Noa Frenkel (The Netherlands / Israel).

Bauckholt and Muntendorf will lead the 2024 CEME composition course, with 24 participating students from all over the world. In addition to composition lessons with Bauckholt and Muntendorf, the students will write new pieces to be rehearsed and performed by Meitar and by guest musicians in dedicated concerts, giving the young composers the opportunity to hear, re-examine and edit their pieces, while receiving feedback on their work from professional performers.

This year’s course will be operating in hybrid form. In addition to the visiting students who will travel to Israel, full remote online participation in the course will be made possible. Students who are remotely located, will receive private composition lessons through Zoom, take part in workshops and have their pieces rehearsed, performed and recorded - all to be carried out online.
