CEME TZAIR: Nurturing the Next Generation of Composers
CEME TZAIR (Young CEME - Contemporary Encounters Meitar Ensemble) is a pioneering program fostering the development of exceptionally talented young composers (ages 9-18). This initiative provides a unique platform for these emerging artists to collaborate with renowned musicians from the Meitar Ensemble, esteemed composer Dr. Hana Ajiashvili, and leading composition teachers in Israel.
Distinguished by the young age of its participants and its comprehensive creative process, CEME TZAIR provides individualized mentorship and guidance. Beginning with initial conceptualization and continuing through to final rehearsals, the program offers masterclasses, workshops, and private instruction, culminating in an intensive residency at Studio Annette in Tel Aviv, the Meitar Ensemble's new home.
CEME TZAIR encourages exploration and innovation. Specialized courses delve into specific areas such as film scoring and composition for dance. The program's success is evident in the numerous performances of student works at prestigious venues and festivals across Israel, including the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Sounds In The Desert Festival, the Willy Brandt Center in Jerusalem and The Jezreel Valley Center for the Arts. Notably, a composition by CEME TZAIR participant Yaniv Kurtzbard was awarded first prize at an international competition in Luxembourg in 2022.
